Earthquake

“Bang! ” one of the books in the bookshelf fell down on the floor.  “Bow! Bow!” my dog shouted at me as though he wanted to say something very serious to me. At first, the falling of the book and the weird behavior of my dog didn’t bother me at all. I didn’t realize what was happening. I was still lying in bed, ready fora nice dream. However, next moment, “Bang! Bang! Bang!” All the books in the bookshelf started to fall on  the floor one after another. “ Bow! Bow! Bow!” my dog started barking louder and running here and there in the room. The painting started to slide from the right hand side to the left hand side of the wall. My favorite crystal decoration broke and scattered into pieces on the desk.

“Oh! My dear! It is an earthquake” I murmured to myself. I finally felt the shaking and realized that it was an earthquake. I was scared to death. As the shaking became more violent, the nightmare of 911 earthquake came back to me . I jumped up from my bed, grasped my dog and dashed out of my room. “Mommy! Daddy! Mommy! Daddy! Where are you? It is an earthquake. Let’s get out of here.” I yelled out again and again, but oddly neither of my parents answered me. It seemed that everyone in my family had already run away and I was the only one left in great danger. Not knowing what to do, I just stood in the middle of the living room and started to weep. I was so desperate that I gave an even louder cry. “ Mommy! Daddy! Where are you?”

"Polly! Polly! Get up! You are having a nightmare. Mommy and Daddy are right in front of you." my mom and dad talked to me tryingto wake me up. The pillow was wet with my tears; the sheet of my bed was soaked with my sweat. Fortunately, I finally came to my senses and woke up. I was so glad to find that I was in a safe place and everything was only a dream.
